Johnny Depp on the Jimmy Kimmel Show wearing T.U.K. Creepers
Johnny Depp, the man himself, was seen in Beijing sporting his quirky style, which included an awesome pair of A8366 T.U.K. Mondo Hi Black Suede Creepers whilst promoting Transcendence, his latest film in which he plays a Dr struck on artificial intelligence and uploads his conscious into a programme and it all takes off from there..
Johnny Depp took center stage in his creepers to play the guitar for 1000 invited guests, whilst on tour promoting in Beijing. Depp was joined on stage by Taiwanese R&B/hard rock artist David Tao, a big local star.
When he's not jabbering on about artificial intelligence, he guest starred on the Jimmy Kimmel Show in April of this year again, in the same pair of black suede creepers - He look great!

The history of the Mary Janes
Mary Jane:- " A flat, round-toed shoe for women and girls, with a single strap across the top"
Walking about your life these days, you'd be able to spot several different women's Mary Jane Shoes in a variety of colours and styles from the highstreet to the dance floor. Traditionally, the Mary Janes are closed, low cut shoe with either a singular or multiple buckle strap. Mary Jane shoes are such a popular style these days, it's hard to imagine life without such a pivotal style
It's strange to think now that they appeared fashionably through the Renaissance era, but worn dominantly by men. Henry VIII of England rocked a pair of Mary Jane kicks, as seen in paintings of the old king. Despite not being very popular, we love his sassy footwear choices.
The buckle strap/s appeared in the early 19th Century and have been a founding feature to this great style
The style became a popular footwear statement in the 20s and by the 30s and 40s women had dominated the Mary Jane as their own. In the lates 90s popular sub cultures such a punk rock, psychobilly and goths claimed the style but added an alternative twist of platforms, chunky heels and thicker straps to give the edge they were looking for - they were a simple school shoe no more.
At T.U.K. we've added our iconic kitty character to the Mary Janes as an applique overlay on the toe, onto a wider fitting sneaker sole unit, the A6467L; which has become one of our most popular styles. Alongside the A6467L, we have boosted our Kitty Mary Janes with some attitude - The T2025 Anarchic Kitty Mary Jane was born! These two styles in particular have become continuous over the years, as there is always demand for this great timeless styles. If the chunky style isn't for you, we've made a narrow plimmie version with a variety of characters available from owls and foxes to kittys and teddys, as well as some styles now in vegan-friendly materials.
In addition to the T.U.K. kitty mary janes, we've added some great mary Jane inspired heels into our collections over the years; the closed toe, multi strap look is now a favorite of ours when designing new collections. This upcoming AW14 collection, we've thrown back to the 90s when the Mary Jane platforms were popular, with our new Nosebleed inspired collection - which we are very excited to share with you, so stay tuned!!
T.U.K.'s Spotlight Q&A: Rock Star Stylist Candice Lambert
A Stylist That Rocks! Q&A with Candice Lambert
Heavily influenced by the underground rock and punk scene she grew up in, Candice Lambert naturally found her calling as a fashion stylist for musicians. The rock star styling aficionado does anything from tour wardrobe, photo shoots, award shows, album covers, music video, to editorials. She styles just about anything that deals with music and fashion. Candice has put T.U.K. on a lot of musicians as well. Some of her clients have included Echosmith, Atlas Genius, The Offspring, Deluka, Andra Day, Green Day… and many more.
Who have been some of your favorite bands or celebrities to work with?
This question is hard to answer. I love all of the bands that I have been lucky enough to style. Each band has its unique style which always makes it fun to work with them. Currently, I am really enjoying working with Bad Things, Kongos, Camila, Smallpools, Blondfire, The Offspring, Echosmith and Deluka. In the past, the Black Keys and Green Day were always a blast to work with.
Not only do you love to style T.U.K. creepers on your clients but you’ve also worn and been a huge fan of them your whole life. What is it that draws you to T.U.K.?
Well, creepers have been in my life since I was a kid. I grew up in the punk scene and it was a prominent fixture in our style. Creepers were a way to not only express yourself and your scene as a kid but it also provided an opportunity for you to identify with others. If you saw someone walking down the street in a pair, you knew immediately they knew what was up. They communicated to you an underlining street cred without words. I will wear creepers for the rest of my life. I will be that 80-year-old lady tromping around in a pair. They bring me to my roots, remind me of where I came from and plus they are so damn cool.
Tell us about your T.U.K. creeper collection! Which style is your favorite?
I have a fairly extensive collection. I have the Vivas in almost all colors as well as a ton of colors and patterns in the classic creeper. I love the Mondo, but I think my favorite is the studded Monk.
What influences your personal style and where do you get inspiration from when styling your clients?
Music has influenced me which in turn has affected my personal style. From my teen years and beyond, I have reflected that influence in the way I have expressed myself through my personal style. The Clash has made a profound impact, and they are reflected in my choices because I get them and I like their message. Music is art – art is style – and it all a personal choice. I always say my personal style is a mixture of Joan Jett, Gwen Stefani, Kate Moss and Joe Strummer.
When styling clients, I listen to their music so I can get a sense of who they are and create a scene of their message and an image in my head to truly understand what it is that they want to communicate to their audiences. Then, I review previous photos, look for things I think represents that message best and things that I think don’t. I consider their vision and understand the core of their creative message. I usually have a collaborative meeting with the band members to discuss creative ways to express who they are and what they want to communicate as artists. This helps me to identify ways to display them through fashion in concert with their music and their art. Their message, their art, and their sound must be honestly reflected through their fashion. In my mind, they are the Picassos, the Van Goghs, and the Pollacks of the 21st Century so I want to ensure their fashion never detracts from their music.
If you had the chance, who would you love to style and throw a pair of T.U.K. shoes on?
Wow! Hard question! I would love to style and throw some creepers on Joan Jett, Blondie, The Replacements, RHCP, Paramore, Twenty One Pilots. Really, I could go on and on. Everyone needs a pair of T.U.K.’s in their life.
What are your goals for the future and what can we expect to see from you?
I have many styling projects for this summer that I am excited about. I want to eventually start my own line and have a collection but I am going to start with shoes first. I am addicted to footwear as you can see, and I have tons ideas.
